“Christ healing the sick at Bethesda — After Carl Heinrich Bloch (1834-90), Holdman Art Glass Studio – Stained and painted leaded glass, 2004 ~~~ Bloch’s mural of the Savior healing a man at the pool of Bethesda was produced in 1883 for the Bethesda Indre Mission in Copenhagen, an institution that helped the poor. The painting was acquired by the BYU Museum of Art in 2001. This spectacular interpretation of Bloch’s masterwork was created for Church use by a leading art-glass firm and subsequently donated for display in the Conference Center. As a superb neoclassical painter of biblical scenes, Bloch was noted for his 23 paintings of the life of Christ for the chapel at Frederiksborg Castle, Denmark.”
